Dragon Ball ep 86 - It's Decided!! The Eight Warriors!

In the preliminary rounds for the 22nd Tenka-ichi Budokai, Son Goku must face a Champion of that very tournament. A legendary warrior, Chapa-o - whose very name makes Yamcha and Jackie Chun nervous - once won the Tenka-ichi Budokai without ever being hit!

... oh. Right. Goku. Carry on, then.

 Next up, it's Jackie Chun!
Muten Roshi, Jackie's secret identity, is preoccupied with the reality that Goku has finally surpassed him in all aspects; his opponent is not happy by the distraction, and charges the old master!
But Jackie wins easily!

Cue the insert song!

Tenshinhan is impressed with Yamcha's strength, but is certain he can defeat him. As the fighters break for lunch, he nearly gets a chance.

 Not satisfied with their food, Tenshinhan starts a commotion with a chief.
"Knock it off! Stop causing a pointless scene. You're bothering everyone!"
"Bothering? You certainly know how to talk big, for someone so unskilled. Shall I show you what true strength is?"

But Jackie Chun steps between them once more, and Tenshinhan tells Yamcha that he owes the "geezer" his life. It isn't all trouble at lunch, however;

Namu returns.

Namu thanks Jackie Chun and Son Goku again for helping his village get water three years ago, but has returned this time simply to test his skills as a martial artist. And he hopes to challenge Goku once more!

Meanwhile, Lunch is trying to win a prize at a shooting game.
(I'm not sure she understands how it works, however.)

Back at the Tenka-ichi Budokai preliminary rounds, Goku, Kuririn, Yamcha, and Jackie Chun have all gotten through to the final eight; as they celebrate, they hear someone shout for a doctor.

Namu lay with only an inch of life left, and Tenshinhan taunts our heroes, saying that Namu should have known better than to compete with that power. But Goku is ready to fight - and would have, had it not been for Jackie!

Tensions rise at the Tenka-ichi Budokai!!
